Kano Hisbah Bans Mobile Movie Downloads to Protect Morals

The Kano State Hisbah Board has officially banned the downloading and distribution of movies via mobile phones across all 44 local government areas in the state. This decision was disclosed by Dr.

Mujahid Aminuddeen, the Deputy Command General of the Hisbah Board, through a WhatsApp message on Thursday. The ban aims to protect public morals and promote Islamic values, responding to complaints regarding the circulation of pornographic films and videos deemed offensive to Islamic teachings and cultural values.

The Hisbah personnel have been mobilized to enforce this directive, which includes routine patrols to monitor compliance. Any individual found violating this ban will face legal action according to Kano State law.

Dr. Aminuddeen emphasized that this measure is intended to safeguard young people from harmful content and preserve societal values, citing a growing concern over moral decadence among youth linked to the consumption of indecent films and videos.
