Kano State Launches Health Supply Chain Review Initiative

Kano State has initiated a statewide health supply chain review to strengthen healthcare service delivery and improve the availability of essential medicines across public health facilities. The review, part of ongoing health sector reforms, was launched during the second quarter review meeting organized by the Kano State Drug and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA) under the leadership of Dr.

Abubakar Labaran Yusuf. The quarterly review mechanism is designed to monitor performance, identify operational challenges, and promote continuous improvement within the healthcare supply chain.

Dr. Yusuf expressed satisfaction with the agency's progress and reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's administration to build a resilient and efficient health system.

The review meeting also aims to expand the scope of DMCSA's activities and strengthen collaboration among stakeholders in the health sector. The agency will organize a week-long program starting July 13 to commemorate the third anniversary of Governor Yusuf's administration, culminating in the commissioning of a new pharmaceutical-grade warehouse on July 16.
