Kano to Solarize 484 Health Facilities for Better Care

The Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KSPHCMB) announced plans to solarize 484 apex primary health care facilities across the state as part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery and ensure an uninterrupted power supply to health centers. This announcement was made during the board's first quarter performance review meeting held at the Emergency Operations Centre in Kano.

The meeting, chaired by Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim, focused on assessing the performance of primary healthcare services and identifying areas requiring urgent intervention, including infrastructure deficits and shortages of healthcare personnel. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's leadership was commended for its commitment to developing the health sector.

The solarization initiative aims to enhance service delivery, particularly for women and children, and is supported by partnerships with organizations such as the Clinton Health Access Initiative and Solina Centre for International Development and Research, which are involved in strengthening Kano's primary healthcare system.
