Kano Senator Marries Military Officer in Surprise Ceremony at Emir's Palace

Kano Senator Kawu Sumaila tied the knot with a military officer in a surprise ceremony at the Emir of Rano's palace in Kano State. The marriage, which took place on a Monday morning, was confirmed by Sumaila's media aide, Muttaqa Babir, through a Facebook post.

The event was not publicly announced beforehand. Pictures shared on social media showed the senator and his bride in military uniform.

Sumaila, who chairs the Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources Downstream, recently defected from the ruling APC to the NNPP.
