Kano State to Establish Military Bases for Security

The Kano State Government has decided to establish military bases in local government areas affected by insecurity. This decision was made during a meeting between Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the 44 local government council chairmen, as reported by the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Muhammed Tajo Othman.

The meeting also included the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly and the Accountant-General of the state. The new military bases are intended to complement existing security measures involving the Nigeria Police Force and Neighbourhood Watch, aiming to improve rapid response to security threats and protect lives and property.

Additionally, the government resolved to implement various initiatives, including establishing Computer-Based Test (CBT) and ICT centres in each local government area, providing rural ambulances to each ward, and installing solar-powered streetlights. The government reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing security, infrastructure, and human capital development across the state.
