Kano State to Launch Airline, Employ Local Pilots

During the 40th Kano State Executive Council meeting at the Government House in Kano, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje announced plans to establish a state-owned airline, expected to commence operations within the next year. The initiative aims to engage Kano indigenes who have completed their professional pilot training.

Governor Ganduje assured that the government would provide necessary support for the project's successful launch. He expressed satisfaction with the performance of Kano-sponsored pilots trained in Jordan under a previous administration's program, describing their achievements as encouraging.

Additionally, Naziru Ibrahim, Chairman of the Kano State Pilot Association, commended the governor for facilitating the revalidation of members' flying licenses, which he noted as a significant boost for their careers. Ibrahim also appealed for further assistance in securing final certifications for pilots, enabling them to operate commercial flights both within Nigeria and internationally.
