Kano State Governor Yusuf Advocates for State Police

During the inauguration of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Drug Abuse and Trafficking at the Government House in Kano, Governor Yusuf declared the state's readiness to establish a state police. A statement from the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, indicated that the proposed state police would complement the Nigeria Police Force rather than compete with it.

Governor Yusuf expressed confidence in Kano's institutional capacity, skilled manpower, and political will to create and maintain an effective state police system, contingent upon the establishment of necessary constitutional and legal frameworks.
