Kano State to Launch State-Owned Airline Next Year

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf unveiled plans to establish a state-owned commercial airline during the 40th Executive Council Meeting at the Government House in Kano. This initiative aims to create employment opportunities for indigenes who have completed their professional pilot training.

The governor announced that the proposed Kano Airline is expected to commence operations within the next year. Yusuf expressed his commitment to providing necessary support for the project's successful operation.

He made this announcement after receiving multiple awards, including recognition from the Kano State Pilot Association for his administration's support in helping members complete their aviation training. Yusuf also praised the performance of Kano-sponsored pilots trained in Jordan under a previous administration's program.

Naziru Ibrahim, Chairman of the Kano State Pilot Association, commended the governor for facilitating the revalidation of members’ flying licenses and appealed for further assistance to help them obtain final certifications for operating commercial flights.
