Dr. Kurfi Granted Bail in Katsina Defamation Case

Dr. Kurfi, a former lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University, was granted bail in an alleged defamation case involving the Katsina State government.

He faces two counts of defamation and falsehood under sections 308 and 309 of the Katsina State Penal Code. The charges stem from statements made during an interview aired on Trust TV on June 24, 2026, where he claimed the Katsina State government sponsored Hajj pilgrimages for bandit leaders.
