KCPC Resolves Dispute Between Choice Air Cargo and Businessman

The Kano Consumer Protection Council (KCPC) successfully mediated a dispute between Choice Air Cargo and Kano-based businessman Alhaji Shuaibu Muhammad Sale. The conflict arose when Sale engaged Choice Air Cargo to transport goods from China, with the understanding that delivery would occur by air within two weeks.

However, the goods were not delivered on time and arrived after approximately three months via sea freight, contrary to the initial agreement. The company requested payment based on air transportation charges, which led to the dispute.

Malam Kabir Muhammad, representing Choice Air Cargo, acknowledged the company's responsibility and agreed to settle based on the sea-freight charges. Dr Ibrahim Garba Muhammad, Executive Secretary of the KCPC, emphasized the Council's role in resolving consumer disputes and commended Choice Air Cargo for their cooperation.

He urged businesses to comply with consumer protection laws and encouraged public support for the Council in reporting violations of consumer rights.
