Kebbi Governor Donates N20 Million to Accident Victims
Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has announced a donation of N20 million to assist victims of a tragic road accident that occurred last Friday, which involved the Ambursa Football Club. The accident, which took place while the team was traveling to a friendly soccer match against a neighboring team in Gulumb town, resulted in the loss of five players and left others injured.
A Toyota Sienna vehicle carrying the team reportedly somersaulted a few kilometers away from their destination. Following the incident, Governor Idris, who was en route to Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, halted his convoy to participate in rescue operations and directed ambulances to evacuate the victims for free medical treatment.
A high-powered delegation led by Garba Umar Dutsinmari was dispatched to express condolences to the families of the deceased and injured. The governor allocated N3 million to each of the families of the deceased and N1 million to each of the injured players, with additional support for the coach, who was unharmed.
The district head of Ambursa, Alhaji Isa Haruna Rashe, expressed gratitude for the governor's support.
