Kebbi Governor Creates New District, Appoints Traditional Rulers

Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, has approved the creation of a new district named Buma District, which comprises eight village areas in Dandi Local Government Area. This decision aims to strengthen traditional administration and improve grassroots governance.

The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Garba Umar Dutsinmari, in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday. The Buma District was carved out of the Dolekaina District and includes the village areas of Tunga Rafi, Gamana, Tudunsan, Gillare, Bump Town, Goraro, Bukki, and Alfarma Kwara.

Additionally, Nasiru Umar Maizabo has been appointed as the Village Head of Marafan Garin Haruna in Tiggi District, Augie Local Government Area. These appointments were made in accordance with the Kebbi State Local Government Law, 2008, particularly Section 10, Subsections (A) and (B).

Dutsinmari urged the newly appointed traditional rulers to maintain discipline, honesty, transparency, and dedication in their roles.
