Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris Ensures No Salary Arrears for Workers

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris announced that his administration does not owe teachers, workers, or pensioners any salary arrears, pensions, or gratuities during the 59th National Conference of Delegates of the Nigeria Union of Teachers in Enugu. He emphasized a commitment to leadership by example, maintaining timely payments for salaries and benefits across various government levels.

Idris revealed that over 5,000 professional workers, including teachers and medical personnel, were absorbed into the permanent civil service to eliminate casualization, and about 6,144 civil servants were recruited to bolster the workforce. He described primary education as crucial for societal advancement and vowed to elevate the status of teachers.

His administration increased budgetary allocations for educational reforms, resulting in the construction and renovation of over 2,000 schools. Additionally, he increased the years of service for teachers from 35 to 40 years, asserting that no teacher or worker in Kebbi State is owed any salary arrears or pensions.
