Kebbi Teacher Suspended for Criticizing Ramadan Aid

Abduljal Usman, a school teacher in Kebbi State, was suspended for three months after he expressed dissatisfaction with the Ramadan palliative food items distributed by the state government. In a video posted on his Facebook page, Usman criticized the quantity and quality of the food support provided, which included a bowl of rice and millet, deeming it insufficient given the workload of teachers.

His video gained traction on social media, prompting the Dandi Local Government Education Authority to issue a suspension letter citing "negligent default of duty." The letter stated that Usman would be suspended without salary during the three-month period. Efforts to confirm the situation with the Kebbi State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education were unsuccessful, as officials were reportedly unaware of the developments.
