Kekere-Ekun Advocates Lawyers' Support for Judicial Reforms

On July 9, Chief Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun received a delegation from the outgoing leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) at the Supreme Court complex. She stressed that the success of various judicial reforms in Nigeria relies on the ongoing partnership between the bench and the bar.

Kekere-Ekun expressed gratitude for the NBA's support during her tenure, particularly in the recent inauguration of the Nigerian Case Management System (NCM). She assured the delegation of the Supreme Court's commitment to improving the electronic filing platform for court users.

NBA President Afam Osigwe SAN pledged the legal profession's support for the successful implementation of the NCM. He raised concerns regarding the Supreme Court's directive for mandatory electronic uploads of appeal records by 2026, requesting comprehensive user manuals and training materials for legal practitioners.

Chief Registrar Kabir Akanbi assured the delegation that the electronic filing system is designed to enhance efficiency and will include safeguards for litigants and legal practitioners.
