Just Adetoun Threatens ICC Action Over Ogun Security Failures

Adetoun Onajobi, also known as Just Adetoun, has threatened to petition the International Criminal Court (ICC) due to Governor Dapo Abiodun's alleged failure to address the deteriorating security situation at Gateway Polytechnic in Saapade, Ogun State. This threat follows a series of violent incidents, including the recent abduction of eight students by armed men.

Just Adetoun criticized the governor for not responding to previous appeals for enhanced security, recalling earlier attacks that resulted in injuries and fatalities among students. She highlighted a specific case where a student was shot and faced difficulties receiving medical attention at a government hospital, leading to costly treatment at Babcock Hospital.

Following the latest abduction, students were reportedly given only a one-day break before resuming examinations, which Just Adetoun condemned. She expressed disappointment over the lack of an official statement from Governor Abiodun regarding the incidents and vowed to pursue legal action against him at the ICC.

The Ogun State Government had not responded to these allegations at the time of reporting.
