Kidnap Kingpin Babangida Buba Arrested in Plateau State

Babangida Buba, also known as Babawo, a notorious kidnap kingpin, was apprehended by the Plateau State Police Command during an operation on November 2024. His arrest was part of an investigation by the police's Intelligence Response Team (IRT).

During interrogation, Buba confessed to his criminal activities and revealed that he had sold an AK-47 rifle to Muhammadu Isiyaku, also known as Mamman, who was subsequently arrested along with several firearms and ammunition, including a brown submachine gun and additional SMG rifles. The Commissioner of Police, CP Bassei Ewah, warned criminal elements to desist from causing mayhem, assuring the public that the command is equipped to deal decisively with crime.

He encouraged citizens to remain calm and report any suspicious activities. Buba and other suspects, including Abubakar Ahmadu Bello, are set to face prosecution alongside others already remanded in the high court in Shendam LGA.
