Kingsley Moghalu Appointed Chairman of Bluecode Africa

Kingsley Moghalu has been appointed as the Advisory Board Chairman of Bluecode Africa, a strategic move announced on Tuesday to support the evolution of Nigeria's payment ecosystem. Moghalu, who served as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria from 2009 to 2014, oversaw significant financial system stabilization and introduced the Bank Verification Number (BVN) initiative, which improved financial inclusion.

The appointment was jointly announced by Chris Pirkner and Odin Krismayr, emphasizing Bluecode's commitment to expanding its operations in Nigeria and across Africa. Davidson Regha, the Chief Executive Officer of Bluecode Payment Nigeria Limited, noted that the company has spent the last three years building its infrastructure in Nigeria, which is now ready for active transactions.

The appointment comes amid the Central Bank of Nigeria's implementation of its payment system vision for 2028, prioritizing interoperability and enhancing pan-African connectivity within the financial sector.
