Klæbo Secures Record 9th Olympic Gold in Relay

Johann Høsflot Klæbo, a 29-year-old Norwegian cross-country skier, achieved a historic milestone by winning his record ninth gold medal at the Winter Olympics. He led the Norwegian team to victory in the men's 4x7.5km relay at the Milan-Cortina Games, alongside teammates Emil Iversen, Martin Löwstrøm Nygård, and Einar Hedegaard.

This victory marks Klæbo's fourth title at the Winter Olympics, adding to the three gold medals he won at the Pyeongchang 2018 Games and two from the Beijing 2022 Games. Klæbo, a 15-time world champion, expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance, noting the significance of achieving this record in a team event.

He also mentioned the importance of enjoying the success and feeling well-prepared for the Olympics, especially after the previous year's world championship. Klæbo has two more opportunities to add to his medal tally, with events including the men's team sprint and the 50km classic race scheduled for Wednesday and Saturday, respectively.
