APC Ijumu Chairman Oyewole Solomon Dies After Meeting

Oyewole Solomon, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijumu Local Government Area, Kogi State, died following a collapse during a reconciliation meeting on Friday. The meeting aimed to harmonize political interests and resolve internal disagreements within the APC.

Solomon reportedly slumped at the Iyara Town Hall, leading to confusion among attendees. He was rushed to a medical facility in Kabba, where he was pronounced dead.

Kogi APC chairman Aliyu Ezzu confirmed Solomon's death in a condolence message, praising him as a committed party member whose contributions to the APC would be remembered. Ezzu expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences to Governor Usman Ododo, the people of Ijumu, and Solomon's family.

The meeting was convened by Funsho Olumoko, a former chairman of Ijumu LGA, following a mandate from the Ijumu Consultative Forum, to address divisions within the party after previous disagreements over local government leadership.
