APC Chairman Solomon Dies After Collapsing at Meeting

Oyewole Mayowa Solomon, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijumu Local Government Area, died on Friday after collapsing at a party reconciliation meeting held in Iyara, the council headquarters. Solomon fell during proceedings at the Iyara Town Hall, where participants had gathered at the invitation of Funsho Olumoko, a former chairman of the local government.

Despite efforts to revive him, he was rushed to a hospital in Kabba, where he was later confirmed dead. The incident caused shock among party leaders, government officials, and attendees.

The meeting aimed to address divisions within the Ijumu APC and foster unity among stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections. This reconciliation effort followed tensions from a previous APC gathering in August, which was disrupted by disagreements over local leadership.

Solomon's death complicates the ongoing reconciliation drive within the Ijumu APC at a critical time as the party seeks to present a united front for the upcoming elections.
