Babanla Residents Return Home After Banditry Crisis

Residents of Babanla community in Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara, have returned to their homes after months of fleeing due to security concerns related to banditry. This return was made possible by an improvement in the security situation, as stated in a communiqué issued after a meeting involving the Babanla Community Development Association, community stakeholders, and the National Transition Implementation Committee.

The communiqué, signed by Mallam Lookman Yusuf, indicated that the meeting reviewed the community's peace, security, and development over the past year. Stakeholders expressed satisfaction with the return of residents and the restoration of peace.

They commended the professionalism of security agencies for their proactive measures in addressing security challenges. The meeting also passed a vote of confidence in the Transition Executive Committee, approved its action plan, and raised over N3 million for community development projects, including a solar-powered water pump and support for local vigilante operations.
