KWACReSAL Fund Empowers Kwara Farmers and Creates Jobs

The Kwara State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (KWACReSAL) Community Revolving Fund (CRF) has positively impacted farmers in Kwara State by allowing them to expand their farms and create jobs. This was confirmed during a post-disbursement monitoring exercise conducted by the KWACReSAL team across ten beneficiary communities, including Adewole, Warah, Afon, Oke-Ogun, Iponrin, Tsaragi, Shonga, Lafiagi, Lade, and Patigi.

The initiative targeted 50 Community Interest Groups with around 1,000 beneficiaries, focusing on women, youths, and organized community groups. The funds are structured as a revolving facility, requiring repayment to benefit more community members.

Beneficiaries reported increased planting capacity and employment opportunities, with individuals like Kayode Musa and Isiaka Yakubu sharing their success stories. The KWACReSAL monitoring team emphasized the importance of prudent fund management and timely repayments to sustain the initiative and extend benefits to more community members.
