Kwara Governor Mourns Activist Abdulrasheed Bolakale

Comrade Abdulrasheed Bolakale Berkindo Soliu, a prominent human rights activist in Kwara, died on September 15, 2026, following a brief illness. He was buried the same day.

Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq expressed profound sorrow in a condolence message released on the same day, signed by Deputy Chief Press Secretary Mashood Abdulrafiu Agboola. The governor recognized Bolakale's influential role among the youth in the Otoge movement, which aimed to challenge entrenched political power in Kwara State.

AbdulRazaq praised Bolakale's unwavering commitment to public welfare, despite any disagreements that may have existed. He extended his condolences to Bolakale's family, the youth constituency, the management and staff of the Gen. Tunde Idiagbon International Airport in Ilorin, and the Ikokoro Compound of Ilorin.

Bolakale was known as a significant leftist voice and community figure whose impact extended beyond activism into public life in Kwara State.
