Kwara Judiciary Dismisses Registrars, Demotes Magistrate

The Kwara State Judiciary Commission has taken disciplinary action against three judicial officers due to serious misconduct. Two registrars, Mr.

Saadullahi Shuaib and Mr. Bisad Adebarad Philip, were dismissed and demoted respectively for their involvement in corrupt practices.

Mr. Shuaib, a former registrar at the Chief Magistrate Court Sango, was found guilty of collecting money from defendants for bail arrangements, compromising judicial processes.

He was dismissed for gross misconduct. Mr.

Philip, attached to Justice Oluwatosin Adeniyi, was demoted from grade level 13 to grade level 12 for collecting N12,000 instead of the official N2,700 fee for issuing divorce certificates, bypassing the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service payment process. The commission's statement reaffirmed its commitment to uphold the highest standards of integrity within the judiciary and warned against unethical conduct.
