Kwara State Orders Oxygen Cylinders for Children's Hospital

The Kwara State Government has directed the immediate delivery of preferred oxygen cylinder sizes to the Children’s Specialist Hospital in Ilorin, following concerns regarding oxygen supply difficulties. This directive was issued by Dr Abdulraheem Malik, the Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Hospitals Management Board, during a routine inspection of the hospital.

The inspection assessed various aspects of service delivery, including ventilation, power supply, water reticulation, and the availability of drugs. Dr Malik emphasized the importance of regular monitoring to identify challenges in healthcare delivery and ensure safe services for patients.

Dr Mosunmola Folorunsho, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, raised concerns about the operational difficulties caused by the lack of oxygen cylinders in different sizes. In response, Malik instructed the Engineering and Development Projects Department to supply the required cylinders.

He also commended the hospital staff for their commitment to quality healthcare and assured that the Board would address the identified challenges.
