Kwara State to Launch Centralized Emergency Toll Line

The Kwara State Government announced the advanced stage of launching a centralized emergency toll line to enhance rapid response to emergencies across the state. This initiative was disclosed in a statement by Bolanle Olukoju, the State Commissioner for Communication, following a visit from Priscilla Gondoalour, the Zonal Coordinator of the National Orientation Agency for the North Central Zone.

The toll line will integrate key first response agencies, including the State Fire Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Police, State Ambulance Service, and the State Emergency Management Agency. The government aims to strengthen public awareness and deepen social reorientation strategies in collaboration with relevant federal agencies.

Olukoju emphasized the importance of using indigenous languages to ensure messages resonate with citizens, particularly at the grassroots level. The initiative also includes forming a joint committee to educate residents about the benefits of federal services available in Kwara State.
