Kano State to Install Toll Gates for Enhanced Security

The Kano State Government has announced plans to install toll gates on major highways leading into Kano metropolis as part of efforts to enhance security and monitor vehicular movement. The announcement was made by Adamu Abdullahi, the Director of Public Enlightenment at the Ministry of Housing Development, in a statement issued on Monday.

The initiative aims to improve surveillance and reinforce the socio-economic framework of the state. Proposed locations for the toll gates include Katsina Road, Gwarzo Road, Zaria Road, Maiduguri Road, Kano-Daura Road, and Hadejia Road, which are identified as major access corridors to commercial hubs.

The government emphasizes that the toll gates will serve as strategic control points to regulate vehicular inflow. The project reflects the administration's commitment to safeguarding lives and properties while improving infrastructure.

The commissioning of the project was officiated by Ibrahim Yakubu Adamu, who urged contractors to adhere strictly to approved specifications and timelines.
