Labour Party Demands Arrest of Julius Abure for Violence

The Labour Party, represented by the National Working Committee (NWC) led by Nenadi Usman, has formally petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Department of State Services (DSS) for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Julius Abure, the former national chairman, and other members of a faction. This petition follows accusations against Abure's group for inciting violence within the party, including threats to kill anyone attempting to stop their actions and destruction of party property, including billboards.

The NWC expressed concern over Abure's alleged criminal activities, including contempt of court and impersonation, which they claim undermine Nigeria's constitutional democracy. They have requested law enforcement to enforce court judgments and ensure peace at the party's secretariat.

The Labour Party's leadership has documented various incidents of alleged criminal operations and has called for urgent action to restore order within the party.
