Lagos Chief Justice Releases 18 Inmates, Deports 2 Chadians in Prison Decongestion Move

Lagos Chief Justice Kazeem Alogba ordered the release of 18 inmates and deportation of two Chadians, including Musa Abubakar Yusuf Aliu, to Chad as part of a prison decongestion exercise. The inmates were released after meeting the criteria for release.

The correctional service in Lagos State currently holds over 8,000 inmates despite a capacity of less than 4,000. Daramola George of the Nigeria Immigration Service facilitated the immediate deportation of the Chadians.
