Lagos Chief Judge Frees 18 Inmates, Orders Deportation of Foreign Nationals

Lagos Chief Judge, Justice Kazeem Alogba, freed 18 inmates in a decongestion exercise to address overcrowding in Lagos State correctional facilities. The release, part of ongoing efforts by the Lagos State Judiciary and Nigeria Correctional Service, emphasized rehabilitation and second chances.

Additionally, two Chadian nationals, Musa Abubakar and Yusuf Aliu, were ordered for immediate deportation due to their criminal activities. The move comes amidst concerns of severe overcrowding in state facilities, highlighting the challenges faced by the nation's judicial and correctional systems.
