Lagos State Seizes 309 Motorcycles in Crackdown

The Lagos State Government has launched a significant enforcement operation against illegal commercial motorcycle operations, resulting in the seizure of 309 motorcycles. This initiative is part of a broader campaign to enhance security, traffic management, and environmental sanitation across Lagos State.

The enforcement was carried out by the Lagos State Environment Special Offences Enforcement Unit, commonly known as the task force, in collaboration with the Lagos State Police Command. The operation targeted various strategic locations, including Oril, Iganmu, Suuru, Alaba, Mile 2 Underbridge, Maza Maza, Festac, First Gate, Iyana Ira, Abul Ado, Alakija, Iyana Iba, Alaba Rago, Old Ojo Road, and Okoko Bus Stop.

In addition to seizing motorcycles, the task force dismantled illegal kiosks and makeshift shops, removing unauthorized structures and materials that obstruct public spaces. The Lagos State Government has vowed to sustain these operations to improve public safety and remove activities believed to provide cover for criminal elements.
