Lagos State Enhances Fiscal Discipline with Finance Session

The Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, reinforced its commitment to fiscal discipline and transparency by hosting a knowledge-sharing session for heads of finance and accounts from parastatal agencies. This session, organized by the Parastat Monitoring Office (PMO) and held at the Resource Centre in Alausa, aimed to enhance oversight of government-owned companies and improve revenue performance.

Key discussions included the examination of practices related to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the adoption of innovative systems to boost accountability and efficiency. Special Adviser to the Governor, Ibrahim Babajid Obanikoro, noted that this initiative is part of a broader reform strategy to instill a performance-driven culture within Lagos State's public institutions.

The session emphasized the importance of systematic monitoring and regular performance reviews to promote transparency and reduce operational inefficiencies, ensuring value for public expenditure. Dr. Olugbemiga Aina, the Permanent Secretary, commended the PMO team for their efforts in organizing the impactful knowledge-sharing platform.
