Ondo State, ICPC Launch Workshop for Local Governance

The Ondo State Government has partnered with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to enhance accountability in local governance through a series of workshops. Conducted over three days, the initiative involved 226 participants, including local government chairmen, vice chairmen, and senior administrative officers.

The workshops aim to equip political officeholders with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate complex public financial management effectively. Dr.

Musa Adamu Aliyu, the ICPC Chairman, emphasized the importance of the program in preventing corruption and improving transparency within local government operations. Bello Idri Bakori outlined the framework for the workshops, which focus on robust internal controls, ethical procedures, and fiscal discipline.

The initiative was formally inaugurated by Ondo State Governor Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, who reiterated the administration's commitment to transparency and professional management of local government resources.

The program will conclude with a session on the legal provisions of the ICPC Act 2000, and participants will receive certificates upon successful completion.
