Federal High Court Begins Relocation to New Complex

The Federal High Court in Lagos has initiated a phased relocation from its current premises at No. 24, Oyinkan Abayomi Drive, Ikoyi, to a newly completed court complex at No. 1B, Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, effective July 31, 2026. This relocation follows the completion of a state-of-the-art judicial complex designed to improve facilities for judges, lawyers, litigants, and other court users.

The Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court, Yahaya Yakubu Shafa, announced that the relocation was approved to enhance judicial administration. The move will occur in phases to ensure a smooth transition and minimize disruption to ongoing court proceedings and administrative operations.

In the first phase, Vacation Courts 7 and 12, as well as Courts 2, 3, 4, and 5, have been relocated, along with the offices of the Chief Registrar, Deputy Chief Registrars, and the Electronic Litigation Registrar of Process (ELRP). Shafa urged stakeholders, including the Nigerian Bar Association, litigants, and the Lagos State Government, to note the new address and make necessary adjustments.
