Worshipper Killed in Igando Auto Crash, Driver Flees Scene

On a Saturday in Lagos, a tragic vehicular accident occurred in Igando, resulting in the death of a female worshipper from the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM). The incident involved a Mercedes Benz C300, whose driver fled the scene after the vehicle veered off course and struck the worshipper as she navigated a designated pedestrian corridor.

Taofiq Adebayo, the Director of Public Affairs for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), confirmed the fatality and reported that officials responded swiftly to the distress call, cordoning off the accident scene to prevent secondary crashes and ensure the safety of road users. The driver of the Mercedes Benz was described as having absconded, which authorities deemed a serious violation of legal and civic responsibilities.

The Nigeria Police Force has commenced a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash and to track down the fleeing driver for prosecution under existing traffic criminal laws.
