Joe Igbokwe Claims Lagos Mob Incident Was Politically Motivated

Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), addressed an incident that occurred at Ladipo Market in Lagos, asserting that it was politically motivated. On Saturday, during his visit to purchase spare parts, he was recognized by traders, which led to a gathering of people who began shouting his name.

Igbokwe clarified that there was no physical assault, contrary to reports circulating on social media. He emphasized that the hostility stemmed from his political affiliations and that no one was harmed during the incident.

Igbokwe advised caution, suggesting that the situation might have been exacerbated by political tensions, particularly involving major ethnic groups in Nigeria. He recounted that he was simply trying to buy parts for his vehicle when the situation escalated, and he had to leave the market after being called by a friend.

Igbokwe affirmed that his vocal stance within the APC is consistent and cannot change.
