Lagos State Opens Registration for 2027 Hajj Pilgrims

The Lagos State government has officially opened registration for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage. Luqmon Balogun, representing the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board, announced that the application forms for intending pilgrims cost ₦20,000, while Umrah forms are priced at ₦10,000.

Mr. Abdulhakeem Ajomagberin, the Board Secretary, urged intending pilgrims to register early and commence payment of fares in line with the timelines released by the Saudi Arabian authorities and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

The Board noted that the final fare may increase or decrease, depending on NAHCON's announcements. The deadline for initial deposits is set for September 2026.

Additionally, the Lagos State government has mandated participation in the Ilera Eko health insurance scheme for all intending pilgrims to ensure access to quality healthcare during the pilgrimage. The registration fee is ₦15,000 per individual and ₦55,000 per family.

The Board reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and excellent service delivery.
