Lagos Police Arrest Woman for N105 Million Fraud Schemes

The Lagos Police Command confirmed the arrest of a 31-year-old woman for alleged fraud involving rental properties and rice supply schemes. The suspect is accused of defrauding at least 13 prospective tenants of N35 million by posing as the owner of a four-bedroom duplex located at 10 Charl Onyeb Street, Divine Home, Thomas Estate, Ajah.

The fraudulent activities reportedly began when multiple individuals arrived claiming they had paid for the apartment but were unable to gain access. Additionally, the suspect is alleged to have defrauded a neighbor of N70 million in a scheme involving the supply of parboiled rice at discounted rates.

Mr. Dayo Akinbisehin, the Deputy Commissioner of Police at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti, confirmed the situation, stating that the suspect is currently undergoing investigation and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
