Lagos Police Seize 7,000 Camouflage Uniforms, Arrest Three

The Lagos State Police Command arrested three suspects—Chinedu David (29), Ezeagwu Chukwuma (38), and Ifeanyi Ogbeanyi (45)—and recovered over 7,000 military camouflage uniforms along with 80 cartons of suspected illicit substances, including betahistine dihydrochloride. This operation, which occurred in June 2026, was part of a broader initiative to combat crime, including armed robbery and cultism.

The police, led by Commissioner Tijani Fatai, disclosed that the operation also resulted in the recovery of 14 firearms, four live cartridges, and various other items, including mobile phones and vehicles. Preliminary investigations indicated that the truck used in transporting the uniforms was allegedly headed for the eastern part of Nigeria.

The police are continuing their investigation to determine the source and intended recipients of the recovered items. Additional arrests were made related to cable vandalism and armed robbery, with various suspects apprehended and firearms seized during these operations.
