Lagos Police Arrest Five Suspected Cultists in Operation

The Lagos State Police Command arrested five suspected cultists in the Apapa Ijora Badia area during an operation based on credible intelligence. The operation was led by Abubakar Ayomid, resulting in the apprehension of four suspects identified as Tanko Yusuf (23), Ahm Abibu (24), Abubakar Shafi (23), and Fatai Moham (25).

The principal suspect confessed to being a member of the Aiy confraternity and provided information that is aiding ongoing investigations to apprehend other members of the criminal gang. Items recovered during the operation included a battle axe, two knives, a hammer, and substances suspected to be Indian hemp, along with a criminal charm.

The Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, warned cultists and criminal elements in the state to disband or face prosecution, assuring residents that the police will continue to intensify intelligence-led operations to curtail cultism and violent crime.
