Lagos State Screens Candidates for Auditor-General Role

The Lagos State Civil Service Commission announced the completion of an executive assessment screening exercise for candidates vying for the position of Auditor-General. This initiative follows the redeployment of the former Auditor-General in accordance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and amendments to the Lagos State Audit Law.

The commission's process involved a rigorous selection framework developed in collaboration with Intermarc Consult, aimed at identifying qualified candidates for this critical leadership role within the Lagos State public service. The assessment panel included heads of service, members of the Civil Service Commission, and representatives from relevant ministries and agencies.

The evaluation process encompassed a review of personnel records, computer-based tests, written assessments, oral presentations, case study analyses, group discussions, and executive panel interviews. Boladel Dapo Thoma, the chairman of the Lagos State Civil Service Commission, emphasized the commitment to ensuring that qualified, ethical professionals are considered for leadership positions within the public service.
