Lagos Task Force Seizes 309 Motorcycles on Badagry Highway

The Lagos State Task Force conducted an operation along the Lagos-Badagry Highway, resulting in the impounding of 309 commercial motorcycles and the dismantling of illegal structures. This enforcement action aims to improve traffic flow, restore order, and enhance security along the busy transport corridor.

The operation, coordinated with the Lagos State Police Command, targeted illegal street trading and environmental violations around the Alaba Rago International Market and adjacent communities. According to agency spokesperson Abdulraheem Gbadeyan, the initiative is designed to strengthen public safety and curb criminal activities.

The enforcement team covered several locations along the highway, including Orile Iganmu, Mile 2, and Festac. The impounded motorcycles will undergo a legal forfeiture process as per the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law of 2018.

Task Force Chairman Adetayo Akerel expressed concerns over the disorder caused by illegal activities and emphasized the commitment to restoring safety and cleanliness in Lagos.
