Lagos Government Urges Residents for Flood Prevention Action

On Thursday, the Lagos State Government called on residents to take personal responsibility for maintaining a clean and flood-free environment during a Citizens Led Accountability Mechanism (CLAIM) Town Hall Meeting at Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area. The meeting, organized by the Lagos Civil Society Participation for Development (LACSOP) with support from Bread for the World, aimed to discuss climate impacts and promote citizen participation.

Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, represented by Mrs. Bolanle Magbagbeola, emphasized that clearing drainage channels should be a civic duty and warned against dumping refuse in drains, which contributes to flooding.
