Lagos State Cracks Down on Illegal Parking in Ikeja

The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has warned individuals involved in illegal parking operations in Computer Village, Ikeja, to cease their activities or face prosecution. Adebisi Adelabu, the General Manager of LASPA, disclosed that the agency has uncovered a racket where fraudsters, posing as touts, collect unauthorized parking fees from unsuspecting motorists in this commercial hub.

Adelabu highlighted that these illegal operations not only affect motorists financially but also lead to additional penalties when enforcement teams clamp down on improperly parked vehicles, which may result in the removal of number plates and towing. She condemned these illicit activities as a disservice to the public and an embarrassment to the state government's efforts to create a seamless and orderly parking ecosystem.

Adelabu urged motorists to remain vigilant and engage only with LASPA-registered operators who provide valid identification and official receipts. She also called on the public to report any suspicious activities through official communication channels.
