LAMATA Increases Lagos Blue Line Trips to 94 Daily

The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Commission for Transport, announced that the Lagos Rail Mass Transit Blue Line services will expand from 90 to 94 daily trips, effective June 15, 2026. This change, disclosed by Oluwaseun Osiyemi via an official press release, will shift the start time of weekday and Saturday services from 6:30 AM to 6:00 AM.

The revised schedule aims to enhance passenger convenience, reduce wait times, and accommodate the growing number of commuters relying on the rail corridor. The service will continue until 9:30 PM, with the increase in trips expected to alleviate platform congestion and improve travel efficiency.

Additionally, Sunday operations will see an increase from 22 to 24 trips, with trains running at 30-minute intervals throughout the operational period. The expansion reflects the rising demand for the Blue Line, which commenced commercial operations on September 4, 2023, and underscores its critical role in transforming urban mobility in Lagos.
