Osun Vice-Chancellor Addresses Land Grabbing Issues

Professor Taiwo Asaolu, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilesa in Osun State, highlighted significant challenges faced by the institution, particularly concerning land grabbers and illegal occupants encroaching on university land. He noted that these illegal residents, including livestock keepers, have created pressure on the university's administration.

Asaolu emphasized the need for the university governance council to establish an independent audit risk committee with external experts to enhance financial management oversight. He also called for the implementation of a comprehensive whistleblower policy and ethical training to detect fraud early.

During a lecture at Elizad University in Ondo State, Asaolu discussed the pressures university administrators face, referencing the consequences faced by former vice-chancellors due to improper handling of issues. The lecture was attended by Professor Adenik Oladiji, who commended the relevance of the topic in light of the current challenges in university administration.
