Gabriel Langton Overcomes Fall at Commonwealth Games

Gabriel Langton, a 19-year-old gymnast representing England, experienced a significant fall during the men’s team event at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where he fell head-first from three meters after missing his catch on the horizontal bar. Following the incident, Langton spent the night in the hospital.

He reported that while he could talk and move, he was anxious about the possibility of serious injuries, particularly to his neck. Fortunately, scans revealed only soreness and swelling, which relieved him greatly.

Langton stated he was hopeful about returning to gymnastics soon. After being discharged, he rejoined his England teammates and was awarded a silver medal.

He emphasized that the fall was a freak accident, noting he had performed the same skill approximately 10,000 times without incident. Langton expressed confidence in his ability to overcome the accident and trust in his gymnastics skills moving forward.
