Layi Abidoye Installed as Governor of Rotary District 9112

Layi Abidoye has been officially installed as the third Governor of Rotary International District 9112 in Lagos, with the ceremony taking place shortly after the new Rotary year commenced on 1 July. The event, attended by over 1,000 guests, was chaired by Professor Toyin Ashiru and featured Yemi Shodimu, Assistant Governor Adewale Abdul, and Charter President Winifred Ebiye managing the proceedings.

Immediate past District Governor Lanre Adedoyin ensured adherence to Rotary protocols. Assistant Governor Adekemi Folorunsho welcomed attendees, emphasizing the importance of Rotary's ongoing projects and leadership.

Royal blessings were offered by His Majesty the Olona of Adaland, Oba Dr. Oyetunde Ojo. Notable attendees included Rotary International President Olayinka Hakeem Babalola, who celebrated his birthday at the event.

In his acceptance speech, Abidoye outlined an ambitious agenda, including a N350 million eye hospital, renovation of Sea School in Apapa, donation of ultrasound machines, and improved fire response capabilities supported by N142.825 million. The evening featured cultural performances and music from Adewale Ayuba.
