CCII Warns Fayose Against Involving Olubadan in Politics

The Ibadan Central Council (CCII) issued a statement cautioning former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose to refrain from dragging the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, into political battles. This warning follows comments made by Fayose during a recent interview on Politics Today, where he accused Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde of dismantling the political structure of the South West chapter of the People Democratic Party (PDP).

The CCII, represented by its General Secretary Kola Olomid and President Ajeniyi Ajewol, expressed disappointment over Fayose's remarks, labeling them as highly provocative and capable of creating unnecessary tension. The council emphasized that the Olubadan institution is strictly non-partisan and should not be involved in political disputes.

They reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and unity in Ibadanland and urged Fayose to respect the revered status of the Olubadan throne, which symbolizes unity among the people of Ibadan.
